Hello folks, Good day! I hope you all had a good weekend. Please note that our fortnightly SIG Community call will be on Tuesday at 3.30 PM UTC.
Hope to see you there!
@Divya will I need a passcode to join the call?
Nope, @zameer fouzan . You should be fine just clicking the link.
Should the README be updated to reflect that no passcode is necessary? I logged in just now to ask for the passcode, FWIW.
To get passcode to attend, please reach out on Zulip.
https://github.com/bytecodealliance/meetings/blob/main/SIG-Community/README.md#attending
To clarify, there is a passcode for the meeting but it is encoded (and encrypted) in the Zoom meeting link. You should be able to join the meeting just by clicking on the link as Divya posted earlier here, and not have to enter a passcode. If you join other than via the link, Zoom will ask you for the passcode. The full meeting details are:

Hello folks, Good day! I hope you all had a good weekend. Please note that our fortnightly SIG Community call will be on 6th August at 3.30 PM UTC.
Hope to see you there!
Hey @David Bryant -- during our last SIG meeting, we talked about creating a BA community mailing list. something like community@bytecodealliance.org ? is that something you can look into? please and thank you
Hi @Karen Chu! Happy to help. We already have a sig-community@bytecodealliance.org mailing list (Google Group) now, and generally create mailing lists for each of our SIGs. Would you rather have that be just community@bytecodealliance.org and use it broadly for all things community, including for the SIG? I read the August 6th minutes to get a sense for what you all discussed. Ping me either here on Zulip or via email and we can set you up as you'd like. We'll also want to be specific about how people sign up, group permissions, etc.
Hey there! We're starting today's community meeting now:
If attendance is low, I may end up canceling and will share the update here.
update -- today's meeting is cancelled. our next one will be on Sept 3
Hey there! We'll be having our SIG Community meeting today at the usual time
Hey do we have a calendar invite for this?
We try and keep meeting details current and available via our Bytecode Alliance events calendar, which you'll find here, and which you can also subscribe to and overlay with existing calendars e.g., as events@bytecodealliance.org
Thanks!
Divya's at OSS EU so I believe she said she won't be making today's community call. Does anyone else plan to be there and are there any agenda items? Otherwise, I will cancel the meeting. I plan to join for a bit and then call it from there.
I'm available and was planning to join, @Karen Chu, but don't have any agenda items
Apologies I couldn't make it today
Hi folks, good day! I am on the SIG Community call today. I plan to stay on for some time and punt it, if nobody turns up.
Side note: @David Bryant I did see your message but wanted to clarify further regarding the mailing list if you could make it to the call. No worries, if you can't. We can continue the conversation async.
Grammatical error: I will be* on
Grammatical error: I will be* on
I am in another meeting and won't be able to join
@Divya Mohan can you add the meeting link? i think you're logged in as admin
here's the meeting link for today's call: Zoom
Hi folks, good day! I am on the SIG Community call today. I plan to stay on for some time and punt it, if nobody turns up.
@Divya Mohan are you there? the call says it's waiting for a host to start the meeting. should i log in as host?
I wonder if switching off Daylight Savings Time here in the US messed us up?
i just had the same thought  i'm in the room now (i logged in as host)
Thanks, Karen. I'm tied up elsewhere this morning but will catch up with you and Divya later today.
i'll hang out for a few more mins and then call it if no one else shows up
So, the time said 3.30 PM UTC, which was an hour back unfortunately. I was logged in, but I didn't see anyone and discontinued the call.
We should consider getting calendar invites cause timezones can 100% be confusing during switchovers such as these.
oh no did i miss it by an hour again?
Yepp! I was on the call for 10 mins but nobody showed up :(
ah okay. didn't see a post about it so i wasn't sure if we were still doing it today. i fixed my calendar reminder this time so i should be able to make the next one on time next time! sorry about that
Sorry -- I was in another meeting which didn't end as early as I'd hoped.
I've just force reset the invitation on the Bytecode Alliance events calendar so the event is scheduled in GMT as its primary timezone and checked to make sure that didn't somehow get converted by to my time (currently PST) as it appears to have done in the past.
If you both would check that to make sure it shows up properly in your calendars I'd appreciate it, both in terms of seeing the invitation set at 3:30pm GMT (UTC) and that that converts properly into your timezones.
starting today's call in a few minutes -- here's the meeting link:

what's the fastest way to finding this calendar? i don't see it on the BA website or anything
FYI - i hung around for 10 mins but no one else joined so i ended the cal
You can subscribe to the calendar directly (e.g. show it in your existing Google calendar) just as events@bytecodealliance.org and have it show up in your preferred calendar. We could add a link to it in the SIG-Community meeting info README too, if you like.
