Topic: Weekly meeting time

view this post on Zulip Mendy Berger (May 14 2024 at 16:12):

We were recently made aware by @Dan Gohman that our weekly meetings overlap with another weekly wasm meeting (don't remember which one).
In order to ensure that all interested parties can attend our meetings, I'd like to move our meeting time.

Moving our meeting one hour back, or one hour forward would work for me.
What do y'all think?

view this post on Zulip Sean Isom (May 14 2024 at 16:24):

Either way works for me. 8 AM is a little early for west coast, but doable

(The meeting is the Wasm CG meeting)

one later works for me

I've updated the meeting time to be one hour later every week.

I can also add you to the google calendar invite if you dm me your email address.

view this post on Zulip Dan Gohman (May 21 2024 at 16:48):

It looks like the calendar invite still has the old time.

view this post on Zulip Mendy Berger (May 21 2024 at 16:49):

@Dan Gohman where do you see that?

view this post on Zulip fitzgen (he/him) (May 21 2024 at 16:49):

ah unfortunately that is when the TSC meets, so I won't be able to attend

view this post on Zulip Mendy Berger (May 21 2024 at 16:50):

Oh no!! :face_palm:

view this post on Zulip Mendy Berger (May 21 2024 at 16:51):

We need some central place where we can see all regular wasm meetings.

view this post on Zulip Dan Gohman (May 21 2024 at 16:51):

@Mendy Berger In my calendar  . It's possible I missed an update?

view this post on Zulip Mendy Berger (May 21 2024 at 16:52):

@Dan Gohman I don't see you in the google calendar invite at all...

view this post on Zulip Mendy Berger (May 21 2024 at 16:52):

Maybe you have a separate event that's not connected to ours?

view this post on Zulip Dan Gohman (May 21 2024 at 16:52):

Oh, did I create that entry for myself? Oops :-}

view this post on Zulip Sean Isom (May 21 2024 at 16:53):

If he was forwarded the invite and not on the original one it doesn’t update

view this post on Zulip Mendy Berger (May 21 2024 at 16:53):

Regardless, we'll need to move it again

view this post on Zulip Mendy Berger (May 21 2024 at 16:53):

Is there a central place we can see all ongoing weekly meetings?

view this post on Zulip Dan Gohman (May 21 2024 at 16:55):

No, because we're spread across different organizations. All the Wasm CG and SG meetings are described here, but that doesn't include BA meetings, and then there are people's personal schedules...

view this post on Zulip Mendy Berger (May 21 2024 at 16:57):

I see.
So how would you recommend we move forward?

view this post on Zulip Sean Isom (May 21 2024 at 16:57):

How about an hour earlier than original, or a different day?

view this post on Zulip Dan Gohman (May 21 2024 at 16:58):

There are meeting-time-picker services that one can use, but otherwise, I don't know of a better way than just suggesting one or more times and seeing what works with the people who actually want to attend.

view this post on Zulip Dan Gohman (May 21 2024 at 16:59):

Btw, are we meeting now?

view this post on Zulip Mendy Berger (May 21 2024 at 16:59):

Oh no. It's only moving forward. We already met.

view this post on Zulip Dan Gohman (May 21 2024 at 17:00):

Ah, ok. I was in the CG meeting :-)

Question is how we find out who's interested in attending.

view this post on Zulip Dan Gohman (May 21 2024 at 17:01):

I think just posting here in #wasi-gfx should work for now.

view this post on Zulip Dan Gohman (May 21 2024 at 17:03):

Like, hey everyone! Sean's suggestion of an hour earlier, which would be and repeating weekly, works for me. Is there anyone who'd like to attend who can't make that time?

view this post on Zulip Mendy Berger (May 22 2024 at 02:04):

Let's try something different. How about everyone adds their availability here? This tools seems to be what we need.

We have a shared calendar events@bytecodealliance. I'd like to see at least all of the meetings in the ba meetings repo on that calendar for better visibility.

Same here, and we're close to having our new SIG-Community facilitating that calendar for broad use.
