I've finally landed the new IO implementation @Yoshua Wuyts @Wassim Chegham - this should unblock us to now get all APIs to completion!

HTTP futures and streaming for HTTP responses is now working, I'm still finishing up the full API, but the same principles should now be extensible to sockets.
