@Guy Bedford or anyone else who knows: is there a meeting today for this SIG? I've got a link to Google Meet, but I suspect that's out-of-date.
Yes, it is on the BA calendar here - https://calendar.google.com/calendar/event?action=TEMPLATE&tmeid=NGFwYzBwYzBkbjNsaDhpY2NscHA1cjhuZTVfMjAyNDExMDVUMTgwMDAwWiBldmVudHNAYnl0ZWNvZGVhbGxpYW5jZS5vcmc&tmsrc=events%40bytecodealliance.org&scp=ALL
Hey all, can we update the BA calendar? When trying to find the meeting today I couldn't because I went to the GMeet room on the calendar invite
I normally can't make this time slot to begin with but thinking I was in the right place for the first 5 mins when it was actually in zoom was not ideal -- and I'm pretty sure I was looking at the official event
I found the correct link here, FWIW: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/embed?src=events@bytecodealliance.org
Oh yeah so that's where I found it as well and how I managed to get in
Yeah, I've got an obsolete invite also. Not sure how to get re-invited to the new event. @David Bryant tried to help me with this in the context of the .NET meeting, and neither of us could figure it out, unfortunately.
I actually have a 3rd one as well
Deleting just so I don't put someone's email out there
But I also actually have a 3rd one
OK well easy enough, thanks for the pointer -- I've just removed the other ones from mine and will keep the new one!
We've tried to make sure the event info in the official BA events calendar (events@bytecodealliance.org) is correct including Zoom links, but that calendar isn't set up to have attendees be added to it individually. You can subscribe to that calendar e.g. as an overlay in your Google Calendar so you'll see it there, but there isn't a way to export events (ICS file, etc.) for decoupled importing into other calendars.
That BA events calendar approach came along after SIG Guest Languages had set up its Google Calendar for meeting info so we've tried to convert, but apologies for the confusion.
@Joel Dice and/or @Guy Bedford -- perhaps we could collaborate to update meeting info in the various READMEs for SIG Guest Languages and its subgroups in our meetings repo. I didn't want to update anything there unilaterally but expect we could coordinate to make sure changes we made there accurately reflected how teams were meeting presently.
No problem -- I wanted to note that the calendar is now right -- I was able to find it thanks to the event calendar (the approach is definitely working), and having a unified place is definitely the right idea.
Going to put in a PR right now to meetings
https://github.com/bytecodealliance/meetings/pull/554
Ran into one wrinkle -- it looks like you need to be a member of the google group to see the Guest languages meetings (not so for the JS meeting, for example), so added a note related to that
Thanks, Victor, and appreciate the PR to update SIG Guest Languages meeting info in the repo. Any one of the several members of the SIG Guest Languages chairs GitHub team can approve/merge, which I'll keep an eye out for.
8 mins ago @Joel Dice did it -- thanks Joel!
