just read the meeting notes, the benchmarks that are mentioned, can they become part of our canonical sightglass benchmark suite?

Yup, the jpeg benchmark can be added without too much difficulty. It pulls in libjpeg though; not sure if that's a blocker somehow.

as long as it is freely distributable, so it doesn't mess up our ability to share the benchmark corpus, we have no problems!

It's ok if you can't find the lucet numbers btw, if the target is %-slower than native that's easy enough to benchmark against
