jrandolf opened issue #14833:
The
component_apifuzzer generates maps with valid key types and random string encodings, but a few things aren't covered yet:
- The fuzz type generator has no resources, so maps of
own/borrowhandles are never fuzzed (the class of bug in #14812).- The typed path never sees duplicate keys, since
ArbitraryforHashMapdeduplicates.- Guests are always well-formed, so out-of-bounds or huge pointer/length pairs are never exercised (the class of bug in #14810).
- Nothing cross-checks typed against dynamic (
Val) results, and there's no WAVE round-trip fuzzing. These seem worth closing before
mapis considered fuzzed indocs/stability-wasm-proposals.md.
alexcrichton added the wasm-proposal:component-model-map label to Issue #14833.
jrandolf commented on issue #14833:
Closing this: the existing
component_apifuzzing already covers maps, and the cases listed here follow directly from the code in #14835 and #14870, so more fuzzing wouldn't carry its weight.
