I have a wasip1 module where I'm seeing diverging behavior between different WASI implementations. Is there a behavior spec for wasip1 I can check this against?
Specifically, in a read-write preopen, opening a file via path_open with oflags = creat and fs_rights_base = fd_read yields an fd that rejects a subsequent write in one engine but allows it in the other.
Does the WASI spec specify how this should work, or is it left to the implementation?
WASIp1 generally does not have a specification beyond the documentation outside of the *.witx file API definitions. It's an unsupported standard nowadays and is unlikely to receive any further clarifications, so there's unlikely to ever be an answer about which runtime is "truly right" vs not
I believe Wasmtime removed support for the rights system entirely at some point.
