Hi everyone,
I would like to share a big thanks to you all, and also inform you that Wasmtime is now in space orbit!

Indeed, I have embedded wasmtime in a satellite payload that has reached space on Monday 2026-03-30. It will be used soon (after commissioning test) to reconfigure the behaviour of the payload. Wasmtime is used to abstract interactions with a camera and a radio board. Our Rust source code is open source too. I will publish soon the .wit files. I will keep you informed when the next steps will occur.

Super cool!

I can probably now say for my bits of Wasmtime+Cranelift "this is the fastest code I've ever written" (because a copy of it is traveling at orbital velocity). so thanks for that :-)

even faster if they push updates via radio -- that goes at the speed of light in a vacuum, faster than fiber optics and slightly faster than radio through air.
