As some of you may know, the Bytecode Alliance's board recently approved Wasmtime as an official Core Project! There will be an upcoming BA blog post announcing this more formally, explaining exactly what it means, and etc... The part I want to focus on is that core projects appoint a delegate to sit on the BA's Technical Steering Committee and represent the project.
On behalf of the Wasmtime core team, I'm happy to share that we have chosen @Till Schneidereit as our TSC delegate!

As for what that means: I've served on the TSC since it's inception and until the end of last year, and in many ways I expect this to be a continuation. But not in all ways: the way I interpret this mandate is different in that I think I should be more opinionated. Instead of striving for neutrality WRT projects, I will intentionally wear a Wasmtime hat.
In turn, that means I will sometimes recuse myself from decisions where the topic at hand calls for neutrality in this regard.
Additionally, I will do what I can to serve as a bridge between the TSC and the Wasmtime project, providing updates and putting topics on the agenda for meetings in both domains as seems appropriate.
And finally and most near-term, I'll work with @David Bryant and others on making all of this more visible: we should update bytecodealliance.org to reflect the new project status, and publish an announcement.
