gm, im wondering how hard it would be and what would be the best steps to add component model support to wasmi,
hope this is the right place to ask this question

Zooming out I'm trying to use this lib https://github.com/DelphinusLab/zkWasm which uses wamsi for execution traces, unfortunately wasmi doesn't support component model yet

I think it'd be great to have more independent implementations of the component model! I don't know that much about wasmi, but it looks like they're using https://github.com/paritytech/wasmi/discussions as the place to have general development discussions. That project is independent of Wasmtime and I'm not sure if anyone here will be able to help you with your question.
