Topic: meeting ended early?

view this post on Zulip Chris Fallin (Feb 26 2025 at 17:05):

I guess we're still on a free Zoom link @fitzgen (he/him) @Alex Crichton @Andrew Brown

view this post on Zulip Chris Fallin (Feb 26 2025 at 17:05):

happy to talk more about this if there's more to say but it seems we basically reached consensus

view this post on Zulip fitzgen (he/him) (Feb 26 2025 at 17:06):

I think Alex actually ended the meeting for everyone, not a zoom tier issue

view this post on Zulip Andrew Brown (Feb 26 2025 at 17:06):

lol... I have to move on to an Intel meeting, but that was a good discussion

view this post on Zulip Alex Crichton (Feb 26 2025 at 17:06):

ok sorry

view this post on Zulip Alex Crichton (Feb 26 2025 at 17:06):

ok so apparently I can't have 2 concurrent meetings

view this post on Zulip Alex Crichton (Feb 26 2025 at 17:06):

clif/component overlap by 30m

view this post on Zulip Chris Fallin (Feb 26 2025 at 17:06):

ah! the perils of Zoom

view this post on Zulip Alex Crichton (Feb 26 2025 at 17:06):

which has never been a problem historically

view this post on Zulip Alex Crichton (Feb 26 2025 at 17:06):

I didn't realize it'd close one room to make the other

view this post on Zulip fitzgen (he/him) (Feb 26 2025 at 17:06):

but yeah, I think we ended at consensus on a sequence-of-insts constructor thingy that doesn't try to differentiate between produces vs consumes flags

view this post on Zulip Alex Crichton (Feb 26 2025 at 17:06):

we'll need to change one to a different zoom account

view this post on Zulip Chris Fallin (Feb 26 2025 at 17:06):

no worries! I'll write up an issue with the flags options we talked about today

view this post on Zulip Alex Crichton (Feb 26 2025 at 17:07):

tyty :+1:

view this post on Zulip Alex Crichton (Feb 26 2025 at 17:07):

I did also want to talk about fixed registers in the assembler but we can do that next week

view this post on Zulip Alex Crichton (Feb 26 2025 at 17:09):

actually do we want to try to move the meeting to x:00 instead of x:30?

view this post on Zulip Alex Crichton (Feb 26 2025 at 17:09):

seems like a lot of folks have to drop at the top of the hour

view this post on Zulip Chris Fallin (Feb 26 2025 at 17:10):

that's probably too early for me (8:00am, with office commute and sometimes daycare dropoff that opens at 8am too)

view this post on Zulip fitzgen (he/him) (Feb 26 2025 at 17:10):

yeah I'd prefer not doing that as well

view this post on Zulip Alex Crichton (Feb 26 2025 at 17:11):

makes sense yeah, do y'all at f5 have zoom accounts to make a new link?

view this post on Zulip Chris Fallin (Feb 26 2025 at 17:11):

it's been ~4 years since we polled on scheduling, we could reopen that if needed; for me personally, for EU-friendly slots (morning in Pacific time), things are pretty full except for Fridays and that's Friday evening EU

view this post on Zulip Chris Fallin (Feb 26 2025 at 17:11):

F5 doesn't believe in Zoom unfortunately

view this post on Zulip Chris Fallin (Feb 26 2025 at 17:11):

canceled the contract last year

view this post on Zulip Alex Crichton (Feb 26 2025 at 17:11):

nono scheduling is "can we easily move? no? ok no movement ever again"

view this post on Zulip Chris Fallin (Feb 26 2025 at 17:12):

We can do MS Teams if folks like pain and suffering; most don't, though

view this post on Zulip Alex Crichton (Feb 26 2025 at 17:12):

kk I'll canvas and see if I can move the component model meeting zoom link

view this post on Zulip Alex Crichton (Feb 26 2025 at 17:12):

lol

view this post on Zulip Erik Rose (Feb 26 2025 at 18:28):

I feel much better now! We suffered a Slack outage at the same time as the abrupt Zoom end, and I thought maybe the whole company had folded up. :-)
