Many of the popular languages and technologies have their own mascots alongside their logos: Rust, Go, Zig, Docker etc.. I was wondering, what a WebAssembly mascot could or would look like. Could it help to popularize WebAssembly? Also please feel free to let me know if you think that a mascot would be a bad idea in your opinion.
@Bailey Hayes and I have talked about making some sort of chimera of other mascots but all the combinations I can think of give off unsettling vibes.
A purple octopus piecing together all the wasm component parts in its tentacles could be cute
Or maybe lightning bugs/ fireflies because... they're cool
When I think about a Wasm mascot I think about a parrot with rainbow color scheme, each color symbolizing the varieties of language ecosystems supported by Wasm and parrots like to talk and learn new languages. :) Also parrots are just cool.
I too like the octopus idea. :)
